Hi guys,

I have had the Steelseries Sensei for over a year now, and I've absolutely loved it. I've never had any issues with it up until a month ago; It simply stopped tracking properly.

When I move it about 2-3 inches it's supposedly fine, but me as a low sensitivity gamer absolutely needs to move a further distance. When I move at further distances it visually appears to look like it has a ton of negative acceleration. I tested it on a different surface (table), and it worked perfectly fine and in fact smoother than ever before. However, it is way too uncomfortable for me to use it without a mousepad which is why I'm quite stumped. I use the Razer Goliathus and I took into account that the mousepad could be worn out, however it's a large mat and I tested it in area's I've never actually used before.

I did update all its drivers/firmware and nothing has really worked for me. Does anyone have a solution for me or have any recommendations?

cheers.

Try and clean the mousepad and the sensor on the mouse. And are you a using high or low sensitivity?

This.  If you have a can of compressed air, spray some around the sensor area.  Inspect it for any hairs or debris.  The odd time a cat hair gets stuck in my sensor and I have wonky tracking until I clean it.

  • 3 months later...

I never ended up fixing this up until last night. I never actually cleaned the sensor properly apparently. I used a professional cleaning product that's safe to use on electrical based components and now my mouse tracks properly once again.

Thanks for the tips again guys, I pretty much did not follow cleaning the sensor part clear enough as i simply blew at the sensor in attempt to clean it lol.
