Two Zotac amp extreme

I've been wondering for a while if its possible to have 2 zotac amp extreme on sli configuration? I know they are really big but i have seen a picture of two of them on a X99 msi sli plus. Is it possible? And what temperatures can I expect?

correct me if im wrong but you can do sli in different slots than just the first 2 as long as there x16

I know it could be possible. But would you guys recommend it. To me it seems like the airflow wouldnt be appropiate.

As long as you have case that can fit both and a motherboard with the proper PCI-E spacing then yes they can run in SLI (even an 8x slot won't bottleneck these cards)

You'll be getting pretty toasty running those cards in SLI, the cooler is a beast but your airflow is going to be pretty limited, and the 980ti(EDIT: we are talking about the zotac amp extreme 980ti right?)runs pretty hot already.

So, which 980ti would you recommend for sli? Should i got with reference?
