Hi, I picked up a MSI R9 270X used for 100$ with warranty. Now I am going to build a new PC soon with a new PSU but I just wanted to ask if I could use the R9 270X with my current PSU till I get my new setup.

My current build is:

i3-530

8GB of ram

1TB HDD

2 fans

Cooler Master B500 PSU (a really cheap one but there is worse)

Is the R9 270X safe to use with my current setup untill I get the new parts?

I used a yumcha chinese 400w with an FX platform and it ran fine at full load.

Not saying cheap chinese PSU's are good, just stating that I ran a system with a 95w CPU and the 270x and never had a power delivery issue with only 400w to play with (prob less than 400w knowing this psu)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Keep in mind, I wouldn't have had any PSU headroom to push it further, I never bothered to OC any parts in this system, neither the CPU or GPU.

IMO a min of a 400-430w PSU from a trusted brand and I'd be a lot more comfy with such a setup.
