Hi,

I built my PC about a year ago, and this has been an ongoing problem.

9/10 chance that my PC doesn't boot windows.

Here are the things that I have tried to do to fix it.

  • Dry Boot
  • Unplug ALL USB cables
  • Restarting
  • Restarting from BIOS option
  • Replacing boot drive cable (I have two drives. (Boot Drive = 240GB SSD Secondary Drive = 3TB Seagate HDD))

Fast boot and fast hardware boot are disabled. A would like to fix this problem ASAP, as I have been dealing with it for a year.

System Specs:

  • Asus Sabertooth Z97 Motherboard
  • Seasonic 550Watt PSU
  • Two drives listed above.
  • EVGA Geforce 780 3GB
  • Running Windows 7

Fast response would be great.

Just noticed that in the boot priority section only my 3TB HDD is listed.   ?

Your 240GB SSD should be there.

Maybe the SSD broke somehow and that's why only ur HDD is showing up in the list?

No data loss or corruption, but I am going to try starting it without the HDD pluged in and just leave the SSD. But I honestly have no idea whats the problem, so i am just trying everything.

So I started the PC with just my SSD plugged in, and here's a dialogue box that appeared.

The current BIOS setting do not fully support the boot device.

Go to advanced > boot > csm parameters, and adjust the csm (compatability support module) settings to enable the boot device.

sorry about my spelling, i am on a tablet

Just an update, still not booting. However I plugged a SATA & Power to USB adapter in to the SSD, and plugged the SSD in like a USB. And it actually launched! But it was like a windows setup thing which didnt work. So it seems that the SSD is fine, but its the Motherboard "Light Brown" SATA plugs that dont seem to work.

So could it be a faulty Motherboard?

If so it has a 5 year warranty which is great
