Should I OC my GPU

So I have this laptop https://www.asus.com/Notebooks/K75VM/specifications/ . I will be upgrading to a new desktop: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fNXK99 around December but I have been struggling to play BF4. Should I OC and can I do it without overwhelming my cooling system.

Are you talking about overclocking your laptop or the new build? If the new build, yes. If the laptop, no.

It will play it fine. lol

Not at 1600X900. like 30-40FPS

Don't OC that laptop. 

 

Also, you should change the GPU to an R9 390. especially in a game like BF4 with Mantle, it'll run better on the 390. Also like every other game now.

 

There's better PSU's than the RM650i, an EVGA G2/GS or a XFX XTR/Seasonic PSU will do you good. 

 

The rest is great.

I mean, you could, but you'll probably throttle really quickly. Generally, laptops aren't cooled good enough for it. 

 

 

I know I have updated the build like 10 times on the forum and a RMi is like 20$ more. I want Shadow play and I know the r390 is better.

If you want shadowplay then sure. 

 

The thing about the RMi thing is that it's not better for that $20. There's better PSU's out there for cheaper /same price. Again, Seasonic or XFX XTR (Seasonic rebrand) will be better PSU's for the same price /cheaper. Or, save a bit and get a G2/GS. You're really paying a premium for a "pretty okay" PSU.

I don't Know if it will throttle it is normal fine when it is around 85 in my house. And as winter comes it wont be above 75 here hopefully.

Well, it doesn't matter, the GPU will still probably be really, really hot if you OC it.
