Probably not 

Taking off the case will make the Cooler have to go closer to the bored and since the intel comes with a preset pushpins you cannot ajust that.

I have a spare p4 processor and I'm thinking about de-liding it, just to see how much, or less, the temps will drop.

The problem is that I have only the stock intel cooler and I don't want to spend money on another cooler or other accesories.

The question is: will the cooler fit?

not to mention u need a torch to get that lid of safely

no once you delid you sacrife the stock cooler's compatibility and no abused old 478 p4's can be delidded easily with razor i done one which is still working but i have no use for it and no plans to have world record with it
