The minute they did this intel and AMD would stop supplying them with chipsets, they'd go from the biggest motherboard manufacturer in the world to nothing.

Its idiots like the op of this thread that see a company like canon cameras and think "wouldn't it be great if they made a printer"

I remember when they said the same thing to AMD, ARM, Qualcomm, yea I bet their bank accounts are saying its a bad idea

More will get in on the bad wagon don't you go thinking Intel and AMD are the sole CPU makers in the years to come, its costly but not as costly as before. Then expect Intel/AMD to outsource their CPU manufacturing to others because at it is they have idle manufacturing plants and might as well let someone use it as in the long run it will benefit them all.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

I love how you all think this is so far fetched. It is probably the only step asus had yet to take to

dominate the pc market. They make basically everything, laptops, motherboards, routers,

wireless receivers, a raid card! If they could acquire a fab plant it would be simply about creating a good

team of engineers; don't get me wrong its implausible but not impossible.

Besides who do you think is going to be the competition for intel once AMD dies? It's sad to say

but AMD is looking worse by the day, the bulldozer was a failure and the piledriver only fixed what

the bulldozer lacked, not enough of an improvement and i have bad feelings about steamroller.

To be honest it will probably be ARM that comes from no where and starts competing.

CPU: AMD FX-8350 - Noctua NH-D14 | Asus Crosshair V Formula | 16GB Kingston HyperX | Plextor M5P Extreme 256GB SSD

Will AMD eventually deploy the Roll-ed Over CPU :D  as in its last hura!

I don't know

For them, it will be like "Time is losing money" because it's not like tying your shoes and it will be alot of money "wasted"

And, honnestly, if they do make a CPU, it'll have to be good so that the people who inform themselves will actually be interested in buying them because remember that the Intel fanboys will just spit on a CPU made by some other company (not as much w/ AMD)

CPU: A10-5800K, GPU: 7660D, RAM: Corsair XMS3 2x 4GB 1600Mhz, PSU: Rosewill Stallion series RD500-2SB 500W, Motherboard: MSI FM2-A75MA-E35, HDD: WD 10EZEX 1TB Blue, Case: Rosewill Line-M mAtx

Samsung could be added to that list imo

Memory and CPU's are completely different, ARM and NVIDIA already make CPU's though for the mobile market but at least they are already doing it, if they where to move to desktop CPU's then at least they already have some experience with CPU's.

DESKTOP - Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H Processor - Intel Core i5-2500K @ Stock 1.135v Cooling - Cooler Master Hyper TX3 RAM - Kingston Hyper-X Fury White 4x4GB DDR3-1866 Graphics Card - MSI GeForce GTX 780 Lightning PSU - Seasonic M12II EVO Edition 850w  HDD -  WD Caviar  Blue 500GB (Boot Drive)  /  WD Scorpio Black 750GB (Games Storage) / WD Green 2TB (Main Storage) Case - Cooler Master 335U Elite OS - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
