I've had my Swiss army backpack for about 1.5 years now (bought it in late spring of 2014), which I originally bought for being able to take my laptop for my Poland trip in summer 2014, because my old backpack would only fit up to 15" laptops, while mine is 17.3". I've used it up until now, where the back zipper just fell apart. One of the zippers came off one of the lines, and the handle of the other fell off, as well as there has been some tearing. Some wear has been showing in other zippers to, but the back zipper made it completely unusable. Even though it's a big back pack as well, its rather hard to fit stuff into it... While other people can fit there stuff easily into their other backpacks (and no, I try to take as little stuff I can, I don't have random junk laying in there taking space)

So, guess I've decided to get a new one, because yeah.

Essentially, these are my requirements:

  • Should be around $50-$70ish
  • Must be able to fit my load (Which includes of 3 one inch binders full with paper, 2 journals, 2 paper folders, 1 large science book and 2 think books preferably in one pocket, then my UE Roll + a cloth pencil case + 2 or 3 chapter books + usually earbuds, my replaceable battery for my G4 + rechargeable battery + flash drives etc somehow in another pocket or two.)
  • About 3 or more total compartments
  • Should fit a 17.3" laptop, but I got a separate case for that now so it doesn't have to but would still be highly preferable.
  • Shouldn't be really really heavy. My current load is already heavy enough along with my backpack.
  • Should have a basic design, preferably black as the main color, nothing special.
  • Should be able to be found in local stores

Anyway, sorry if this is the wrong subforum, I didnt find anywhere else to put it in.

Thanks if you can help :P

Are there at least any decent brands I should check out over others that have higher quality stuff etc?

I'm not sure if this one has enough space for everything you need, but I have had this same one for a year and a half and it still is in pretty good condition, it fits my Asus G750 just fine along with some other things that I carry, and I use it to carry groceries too (only groceries, not with the laptop), so it can carry 15 kilos with out issues. Although it costs $100.00 dollars here.

I've always liked Ogio's laptop backpacks, though they may be out of your price range: http://ogio.com/backpacks

I've used an older version of this for 7 years now, took me through all 6 years of college without ever giving me a problem.
