high performance radiator

Go to solution Solved by dendenno,

alright 2 rads it will be :D a 360 at the top and a 240 in the front that should deffinetly be good enough or like W-L sais i can do 360 front and 240 top.

ty for your help guys!!

i was planning to water cool my pc but i can only fit a 360mm rad in my case. since i have 2 980ti and a moderate overclocked cpu and i want to overclock my gpu's too.
now i have about 80mm space for my triple rad, so is it best to go for a ticker rad with 1 set of fans or go for a 30mm rad in push pull?. cause i tought if i find a rad with a high fpi and run it on push pull i should be abble to get nice cooling performance

sorry for my bad english (but i try) :D

Go with thicker rad because push/pull is only 2`C difference between push or pull

Unless you use airflow rated fans (like I did for some reason), in which push/pull helps a ton. If possible try stacking two 360mm radiators. What case do you have?

i have the fractal design define s and i can get my hands on venturi hp fans

Welcome to the Forums!

I would probably recommend to add in an addition 360mm in the front if your looking for silence and cool temps, while a single thick 360mm rad is good it's close to the bare minimum of the 120mm rad space per component. Longer rads and more rads tend to cool better than straight thicker rads.

The fractal design page says that you can throw a crapload of rads in it. http://www.fractal-design.com/home/product/cases/define-series/define-s

Mine is an arc mini and I have a 240 and 360mm radiator in it. Why cant you fit more rads in yours?

yea but i dont want to use the front as intake with a rad cause it will blow then alot of heat on my components and i am not a big fan of that

It's not a problem but you could do a less commonly done front exhaust as long as you have a place for intake, only thing with that is you have negative air pressure which is more of an issue with dust.

yea i heard negative pressure is pretty much a no go
so i come back to my plan just sticking a singel 360 rad at the top but then one with alot of fpi to get a bit more performance out of it

so anyone have a suggestion what rad to use cause i really want a high fpi rad but i cant really find one :(

Even with high FPI and thickness though if your wanting really low temps at load don't be expecting that espically if your doing heavy overclocking, some good high FPI rads are the Black Ice GTX, and XSPC AX series or rads.

Personally I run a front 360 and top 240 with the heat just going straight in the case and it doesn't have any negative affects with that kind of setup.

the heat blowing off your radiators is negligible at best as long as you have adequate cooling for your components, so don't worry about that. If you want to cool 2x 980Ti's properly, your gonna need more than a single 360mm rad.
