i had a a8-5550m and a i3-2xxx

THE I3 IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO LOSE -_-

both were my mian rigs and i used them for a long time and actually the envy only cost me 50 bucks more than my toshiba did granted a 2 year differnce ... one was about 6 and the other was about 630 with a a8 and 8750m

Seriously i dont feel like arguing

but please

reconsider it before making a horrid mistake

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

did you just say you bought both with a difference of 2 years in between?

Because there's 2 years in-between the CPUs. You cannot compare them together because they are from different generations. And to start with, i3 processors for laptops are shit.

i have a main rig but i feel as even though i have a a8 its not enough for even casual games granted i play league on battery with 40fps on meduim-high i was use to very high on just the intergrated graphics on my fx laptop

amd lapto have always just intrigued me and ive liked them its a personal prefernce , i have a intel dekstop  way more powerful than i need but its fun to own the top end hardware

i7-2600

gene v mobo

12gbs of ram

hd 6990

700w psu

razer black widow

logitech g602 mouse

ac wifi

and i use harmon and kardon soho II for my headphones

If you're only playing League, you'll be fine with the Quadro 4200m in a T420

If you're going cheap and a school laptop, don't bother looking for a decent GPU or iGPU above HD3XXX or HD4XXX if you spend more since it's gonna get beat around and battery life is more important. Like I said before, school is for work, home is for gaming and work, don't waste your school time playing games

LTT's fastest Valley 970, slowest Valley Basic and Extreme HD scores

Desktop || CPU - i5 4690k || Motherboard - ASUS Gryphon Z97 || RAM - 16GB Kingston HyperX 1866MHz || GPU - Gigabyte G1 GTX 970 *Cough* 3.5GB || Case - Fractal Design Define R5 || HDD - Seagate Barracuda 160GB || PSU - Corsair AX760

Then if you don't game why are you looking for a laptop that can? At your budget you're not going to get anything with a good GPU, just go cheap so you won't be worried if you break it, and just get something that's build well so it can survive being beaten around

Your best bet for low budget gaming would be an Acer Aspire honestly, they offer the most hardware for the $$$, it's just that... Well.... Acer's laptops are pretty much flimsy plastic crap. So long as you don't mind that though, the hardware is good.

sadly i do i try to consider my self a enthusiast with a 17 year old who is in college budget. i work a in wage job (8.10) but i do help woth bills in my house when needed. my desktop takes most of my focus and my laptops i like to be cheap but yet somehow not cheap like i like a metal feel or metal while i have a decnt igpu/ dgpu i was looking at a lenovo

a10-7400

260dx gpu

4gbs of ram

and a 500gb hard drive but no touch and it was alot bigger than my currnet one. which pushed me away even though it was 450 bucks.

I can only speak for the Lenovo Y50, it was $800, but I've had this for almost a year now and it runs great with no issue. My experience at least THUS far would certainly lean me towards another Lenovo down the road if they had the same sales as they do on the Y50.
