Im just going to keep it short and simple.

I am planning to create a google account, however, it is asking for my birthday and last name.  I know it sounds weird but just in case ive missed something, should i give them my real birthdate?  (ive been told to try to not give personal things such as this and instead give a slightly moddified version of it) should i do it in this case?  And the samething goes with the last name.

Please dont judge, im coming from console and may not know a few things.

Go ahead and give them your information, they're not going to track you down or anything..

How many people have the same birthday as you? Probably millions, impossible to find a specific person with only their birthday.

As for your last name, that's up to you, you can put a bullshit one in, or your real one.

We really can't make that decision for you. It all depends on how much you want to keep your  info safe.

I would rather keep it personal...  But can i get in trouble for lying to a big company like this?

Well i am under 18, so if i did change it to 18, would this be okay?

And the last name i would rather put a fake one.

Not at all. they are not going to cross verify your birthdate to make sure its correct, and as far as I know you don't have to remember the fake one you create if you forget your password or something.

I give my real month and date, but not the real year

(because I'm apparently too young to have any accounts)

I use to do this but its too risky, if you mean "in case you forget" this wont be an issue.

Soo i guess that is a "no" for the "will i get in trouble" question?

Will you get in trouble for putting in a fake birthday? Nah, google doesn't go to the government or anything to verify the information.

They won't care.. Back when I was a youngin' with a high-pitched voice, I got caught by a SWTOR phone operator for having my birthday set to 1901.

He just told me to "use more accurate information.." so they can "better help" me in the future, no FBI knocking down my door yet
