Hi guys! I just wanted to know if this is a good combo. I am planning to buy the hd558 with fiio e10. I will use it primarily for gaming. Is this a good choice? Or should I go with something else? Different headphones, or dac? Or a soundcard instead?

Good choice.

Both on the DAC, and the headphones.

The HD 558 are a very good choice for that price point, but before doing the purchase, I think I might as well alert you of potential disappointment.

The HD 558 are open headphones. Which means you will be hearing what's happening around you in the room, and people around you will hear what you are listening to. (of course, the better side of this is less distortion, less "echo", and a wider soundstage)

And, They are rather light on bass, which might or might not make them optimal for gaming. (depends on whether you want to hear the eardrums shaking bass, or you want to hear precise voices, music).

Thought I'd just give you a heads up of things that you might've missed.

Thanks I already knew this. I won't be sitting in an office with people next to me or anything. I don't have any roomates or anything either. So I don't think that would be a problem.
