Question about cpu cooler backplates.

I was wondering if I can install a cpu cooler with a backplate on a motherboard in a case without a backplate cutout in the case? Will that provide any problems if it does install.

Yes, you can. But you will have to remove the motherboard if or when you want to replace or remove the CPU cooler.

I've actually done that a lot, those old HP cases in particular!

Yep got some old dell ones as well a little more work but the are alright cases
