This is going to sound lame but for one of my speech classes we have to do an informative speech about anything. My topic of course was PC gaming.

Here is my speech broken down

I. What is PC Gaming?

A - Inform that you can in fact game on a PC as opposed to a console.

      1. Showing comparison between console vs PC hardware within similar and different prices

      2. Game prices (cheaper than a brick and mortar shop) compared to consoles

      3. No needed subscriptions to play online or access content.

B - How to get started

      1. Building Your Own (Basic part list)

      2. Buying pre-built

II. What are the benefits to PC Gaming?

A - Better performance

      1. Can adapt to changing times by upgrading

      2. Play at higher resolutions, higher frame rates.

      3. Ability to multi task & output to more than one monitor.

B - Can serve as a more complete than just a gaming PC

     1. Entertainment system

     2. Productivity station

C - Community

     1. Very large open communities

     2. Community Driven Events

D - Modding

      1. Customize most games to your liking with mods.

III. How much does it cost?

I need help on all the parts (I, II, and III), but mostly need help on part III. I need help building some parts list at different budgets. I originally wanted to do a $400, $600-$800, $900-$1000, $1200-$1500, $2000+ parts list and what they could "achieve" in terms of performance. The thing is I lack the knowledge on the performance figures, so if any of you have some idea or have a better price range let me know.

Also, this will be part speech part presentation, so if you have any interesting videos or images, videos must be short (1min or less), let me know too. Any other help you guys can give me on the other parts of the speech/presentation or organizing would be much appreciated.

I gotta go to class, so thank you all!

Sooooooooo... basically you want us to do all the work for you so that you can get a good grade. That's called cheating/plagiarism. Put the proper amount of time and effort into it, don't wait until the last minute to start working on it, and you should do just fine. This is all stuff that you can easily do/figure out on your own if you actually do the research.

You can come here for consultation about stuff you don't understand, but we can't just do your work for you. You can learn all this stuff from r/PCMR. Benchmark charts are out there by the literal dozens of dozens. Find them, use them, and remember to cite your sources.

this speech is gonna be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO boring to people who don't care at all about pc gaming..which my guess would be over 90% of the people in your class

gonna sound kinda cheesy to..like you are a marketing person trying to sell something

personally I think they wanted you to pick more of a social topic or political or something

If you need remote help fixing something on your computer

I can help over Teamviewer if you wish

just msg me on my profile

Trust me, ALL of them will be just as uninteresting to most of the people in the room. At least he's spreading the righteous name of the GloriousPCGamingMasterrace.

He said he needs help making parts lists, why are you saying he's cheating or plagiarizing, have you never asked anyone to help you on something in school?

No one asked for you to do my work for me. The speech outline is what I will be using. I have a speech I am giving and I'm supposed to do it from memory. Only thing allowed is a bare bones speaking outline (no sentences, only phrases, cues, etc).

Or at least give us a rough draft with specific questions

I didn't have time to give you a rough draft, besides its too embarrassing to post my actual speech.

Last week, one of the presenters talked about dry wall and how to repair dry walls. Then we also had another speech on how to make guacamole... The best speech was about how to shower properly.

He said he needs help making parts lists, why are you saying he's cheating or plagiarizing, have you never asked anyone to help you on something in school?

YES! Which is what I really need help with? I am no expert in performance figures and if people read the last part I asked if the community could generate some parts list for me with some performance numbers.

Specifically

Graphics Settings

Resolution

Frames Per Second

Example

$600 PC playing games at 1080p on medium to high settings with 40-60fps.

$1200 PC playing games at 4K on medium to high settings with 40-60fps or 2k at high settings with 60fps or 1080p max settings at 80-100fps

something like this.

The way you phrased the OP conveyed the impression that you basically wanted people to put together builds in various price ranges and come up with average benchmarks and just give you the information. I'll save you and everyone time. Go to LTT's YT channel and go to the build guide playlist. They have a good number of videos going over all price ranges and it should give you most if not all of the information that you need. If you are wanting real world performance benchmarks then you should ask if, since you cannot afford to build a bunch of different systems just for the purpose of collecting data, people would be willing to play some games/run some benchmarks if their systems are in certain brackets (to help you get actual data).

For instance...

My rig as it sits right now is right around $800 (just for the actual computer parts, not including the case and fans).

My system is:

Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer

CPU: FX-6350 Black Edition

RAM: 8 GB Crucial Ballitix Tactical Tracer 1866MHz

GPU: Sapphire R9-280 Dual-X OC Edition

Storage: OS - Intel 530 Series m.2 SSD, Primary storage - 2 Crucial M550 256 GB SSDs in RAID 0

PSU: Rosewill Capstone 650M

I am about to upgrade by adding in a second R9 280 Dual-X OC Edition card, another 8 GB of RAM, and an EVGA 1050GS PSU. If you would like some comparison data, I could run benchmarks as it sits now and then add in the new parts and re-run benchmarks. Kind of a before and after.

It's all in the way you phrase it....

For the exact reason that I cannot build them as you said, just to collect data, was the reason why I came here. I need some builds and actual numbers, otherwise I'll be talking out of my arse.

I need actual build list that have been built with numbers. As much as I love LTTs, their videos are slightly out dated. I need it to reflect current market values.

Well, mine was built last November, so if you want some benchmarks I'll need to know what time frame we're looking at.

I ended up running out of time and simply looked up a bunch of PCs from PC Part Picker that were built and averaged whatever performance they posted per cost of build.

My speech ended up going slightly over the time limit due to teacher's clicker not working half the time. Regardless, everyone enjoyed it.
