Does anyone have any experience with WTFast, and does it actually do what it says / improve ping & lag?

and on the flipside has anyone used it and had bad results from it?

I'm half tempted to get it, but I don't want to download and try it if it actually ends up messing up my computers connection.

Note to mods: I wasn't entirely sure if this should be in the gaming forum or elsewhere.

and we will live such tragedy in perpetuity.

I never use these ping improvement software thing. All it does is changes the priority of game connection which you your self can do better through the router, and that won't even be a guaranteed improvement.

Some of us don't have QoS settings :P

I used the free version for a bit, it's alright. reduced my ping in some games by like 10 (I think?).

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Ah, reducing ping by 10 isn't that much then really

For me personally it was decent, considering on most NA servers I average 85 ping.

I get 85 or so ping connecting to Washington TF2 servers

I get ~45 ping at Virginia servers :P

It's not that I'm into stuff like that. It's more the fact someone in the guild I'm in mentioned it, so I googled it; then came here to question whether it's any good or not.

Its does improve ping but barley. My ping went from 170 to 166, not much of a difference.

That's interesting, it probably depends on your location. I played FFXIV but on American servers, and I'm from Europe and it helped, quite a bit honestly. Me and my gf both used it. Also another guy from my raid group that was from phillipines was using it, the only way he could play the game was with WTFast or something similar. He was using Pingzapper iirc, cheaper on monthly basis. WTFast worked better for me though. And I couldn't remember the numbers even if my life depended on it.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I saw it on steam once, it also had the worst reviews I've ever seen in my life with like a 18% negative score lol.

Personally I noticed a huge difference in an MMO heavily reliant on good ping (Mabinogi). Playing on servers based on the West Coast of the US from Australia, I really did notice an improvement when I tried a trial of WTFast. That was a few years back though, I don't know what it's like now.

There is probably a far better option out there than WTFast anyway.
