Found a build by Paul's hardware and wanted some opinions are the parts. This is strictly for gaming, so I figure I could bump down the i7 to an i5. Are there any other adjustments that could recommended?

You could save some money by lowering the PSU to an EVGA G2 or XFX XTR.  Also, I'd suggest getting a mass storage drive as that SSD will fill up fast with games.  And you could bump down to a 6600k since you're only gaming.

I agree, something like a WD green 2 terabyte should do

this will have the same performance at lower cost...the GPU will run much cooler and quieter than the reference card...you don't loose much with this and you save 300$ so you could keep the i7 in there which will do better than the i5 at gaming and will remain relevant for a longer period of time especialy with DX12 and multi-threaded games we see nowadays:

You might be better off going with a non X Fury for better performance per dollar, in addition a free-sync display is going to cost less than a G-sync display down the road

I'd just get the locked i7 6700 unless you plan on a 144hz display

Cooler is a bit overkill, and you may be able to find less expensive coolermaster AIOs

If you're going that route with the storage I'd get this SSD over that one

And if you do any of that stuff and shave down the budget a bit you  could probably fit a free-sync display into it

And if you're just gaming an i5 will be fine

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Not a green.  A blue or black is better.

Why?

It's slower than a WD BLue or Black, it has the lowest reliability out of all and it has the shortest warranty.  The Blue is the best Bang fror Buck.

Ohhhhhhhh I see... Interesting...

Have they been known to just die on the spot without warning or something?

They haven't built up a bad reputation mostly because they still are manufactured by the company that makes the best HDD's but they are considered not as reliable as the WD blue or black.  Better to be safe than sorry.

Do you think these would be okay for RAID in a server then such as RAID 10? I have a green in my system and now I'm kind of worried

WD Reds are the server drives as the Green's aren't rated for 24/7 use.  They aren't bad drives however.  Nothing to worry about.
