Microphone power help

So i resently bought a bm800 condenser microphone and it needs phantom power, but one review said that if you have a desktop with 500w + then you can run it strait of that

right now i am running it into my 3.5mm mic jack directly from my mic and it is rather quite

can i run it of my 550w psu , do i need to get a phantom power supply (which i cant really afford) and can i get an xlr to usb 3.0 to run it without phantom power

thats not how it works

at all

you need to feed the mic 48v

what power supply your PC has doesnt matter, because a 3.5mm jack does not send 48v

just check the specs to make sure they it has phantom power
