Best position for mounting a Hyper 212?

SLP

Title says it all. Now, this kind of goes off my old thread that was made today but in a new question.

What's the best way to mound a Hyper 212 evo? I have my fan to the left, because RAM is too tall on the right.

CPU: i7-4790k

GPU: GTX 970

RAM: 16GB (useless?)

Fan: NZXT Phantom Full-Tower, 3 default case fans.

Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo.

Also, best way for lowest temps?
....ahem....I'm getting 99C while running Prime95 before I wrote this. 45C idle....

Yeah....help is cool.
Thanks in advance.

Also, had to downscale image to 1MP for it to not be too big to upload xD.

What way is the fan blowing? If it's blowing towards the ram you should try turning it around the other way.

ah, that means the fan is fighting the case fan. turn that rear case fan around, and move that larger fan to the space next to it

If the turns back case fan around his pc would become a giant clump of dust I think. You can already see quite a buildup on the fan area so he should get a dust filter if he does that.

You need to put the fan back on the other side. Move the RAM to channels 2&4 instead of 1&3 so you can put the fan there.

I used to be quite active here.

So, move the big fan to the right. Then, turn the back fan around?

Shouldn't the RAM go in the slots to the right of them? Also, fan intaking other side would be better.

Mate, I searched images of how to install the RAM. I put it in Slot 1, and 3. I don't know.

You can also put the mounting clips on the other side of the fan, so that it is pulling air through the heatsink and out the back.

If I move the RAM to slots 2 & 4, would that affect performance at all with the ram?

Negative air pressure is not bad for cooling, just the dust... so clean your PC once every few months.

Well, they can go in slot 2 and 4 :P might help with clearance.

Nope.

@SLP

Those two case fans you have in the picture should be exhausts, the 212 fan should be blowing air towards the back.

Wouldn't affect it at all. Mine is in that config right now because of my 212 EVO. :)

I would probably just turn the cooler fan around so that it is pulling air through the heatsink and out the back of the case. You can unscrew the plastic clip mounts from the fan then screw them into the other side, the screws are self tapping. Moving the other fans might cause dust issues due to lack of filters.

Pull is fine, but flip that cooler fan around.

I just did that. Re-applied thermal paste & turned the fan to the right, moved the RAM for clearance.

Still getting 45-48C Idle. 95C on load.

Adjust the fan speed curviture. It is spinning at around 10% when Ide, that is why it is so hot.

I can't adjust it. I either have "smart", or "manual", which Manuel = 100%, even if you change the speeds.

As for smart, my CPU fan, even at 100%, doesn't really affect the temp. On Idle just on chrome, it's at 20%ish right now, 700RPM, 42C.

Staying around 43C, with fan at 100% on chrome. Also, as you can see.

"25%" doesn't mean 25%. It doesn't change.

I have no clue. Like, I re-applied thermal paste. I made sure it's secured, twice so far. Even with all my fans cranked up, it's still hot. Like...am I missing something?
