Old root server

I have got a old root server from my work place and I'm thinking about the cpu and the hard disk maybe I can reuse it for my new computer build is that possible at all or is it using different parts than a normal PC and there is some ram too I don't know is it reuse able or not.

Why not use it how it is? 48gb of RAM and an i7 5820K is pretty amazing for a PC. Just slap a GPU in it and put windows on it unless it has some proprietary thing but it shouldn't

Just keeping this here as a Why not use it how it is? 48gb of RAM and an i7 5820K is pretty amazing for a PC. Just slap a GPU in it and put windows on it unless it has some proprietary thing but it shouldn't

We got the server last year but the my boss want to have a bigger server so we change it to Xeon server so the old one he is not using it any more so he just give it to me

I'm assuming that it's in a rackmount case. If it's a standard ATX board, but it in a tower case, get a good GPU and a boot SSD and try not to dislodge the horseshoe that's up your ass when you sit down in front of it.
