GTX 980 ti CS GO issues

MADCATZ
Hey There,

About a week ago I brought a EVGA gtx 980 ti sc acx 2.0+, its been running great in every game except CS GO. When I ask it to play Ark or GTA 5 it will boost up(1300Mhz core clock) and perform exactly like it should at (99% GPU usage) But when I am playing CS GO it will only be running at 800-1200Mhz and CS is only utilizing 30-50% of its GPU power. It clocks its self down because it thinks running CS GO at 200 FPS is enough......for most people it would be :) But I really want to be able to see the extra performance this card brings over my old card(HD 7870 XT) in CS GO. When its running at such a low core clock speed, it performs slightly worst than my old card.

I have seen people run CS GO with a 980 ti at 400 FPS, the fact that the game is now running worst than on my old card is pretty annoying.

Any help/ideas would be great! :)

I don't know why you'd want to. If it's performing fine in other games, don't worry about it.

It`s really pointless to run a game at that kind of framerates.

If you really wanted to, you could control the clock manually with MSI Afterburner.

i7 4790k | GTX 970 | 16GB

That's all you need to know. It's a beast.

not cs. mouse input lag decreases the more frames you have. it's pointless to go over 300 then it's already 3ms, but lower than that you really feel the difference.

Also CSGO is framerate rollercoaster, it goes up and down all over the place.

Do you have a monitor that can show the 400fps sick mlg gains? If so I'd really like to hear about it..

I have a 144Hz :P With CS:GO it feels smoother the more FPS you have, its very hard to explain well and harder to understand. You have to put a stupid amount of hours into that game........

I understand that as I have a couple of 144Hz monitors myself. What I don't understand is why you want 400fps when you can't see over 144 of those.

It just improves the feeling of responsiveness you feel through your mouse :) would just like the FPS I could be getting to be a reality!

In CS:GO the bottleneck is actually the CPU - you could try OCing yours.
