Alright so I badly want a gaming computer but the problem that I am running into is that I have next to no funds for a new pc. I do have a laptop right now that isn't too too bad in it's processing and gaming capabilities... but I want better. Lol. So right now I have a Toshiba Satellite C855D-S5357 and I want to upgrade my CPU and GPU. I have seen a video on cleaning out one of these laptops and seen that it isn't too hard to change out the CPU but I am not sure about the GPU. So I guess my main questions are:

1. What CPU's are compatable with this laptop?

2. How would I go about replacing the GPU?

3. Would these upgrades hurt my computer? (overheating, not a proper PSU to handle the upgrades, etc.)

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and, I have taken apart my previous laptop (and successfully put it back together) so I have a general understanding of how everything works and fits in there.

I can smell you

That's one of my worries. I was just hoping that someone might know about the Satellite laptops and be able to recommend parts for such a thing.

Whats your budget for the upgrade

That Laptop I'm sure has a APU, so the Graphics are okay already, and it's a BGA APU, I'm not too sure but I think it means it's soldered to the Board itself? Seriously there is no point trying to even bother upgrading it, there's no point, being a Laptop it will boost performance in no meaningful way. Sorry dude, buy a Desktop :)

In that class of laptop, your upgradeability probably doesn't go farther than the RAM and HDD.. APUs do perform better in games when they have fast RAM, so you might be able to squeeze a bit more performance out of it if you buy a kit of 1866 mhz dual channel memory. (if your mobo supports that

The only thing I can say is that you should start saving up for a new desktop..

i7 not perfectly stable at 4.4.. #firstworldproblems

Yeah I haven't even opened this up yet so I'm not all that sure about whether it's soldered or not. But haha yeah, that's probably what I just need to do.

Where are the steps to upgrading the GPU? The link is only giving me possible upgrades (GPU not involved)

And cool, thanks for the CPU upgrade vid

I've been to crucial before and it seems to only have upgrades for memory

I can smell you
