Hi,

Currently I have 16GB (2x 8GB) installed in my motherboard, which is a Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3. I just found the same kit on Amazon, another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz for about £65 - the lowest I've ever seen it.

I've seen contradicting posts online as to whether you can add RAM or not... As I'm running in dual channel on this motherboard, would it be ok? The TechQuickie episode seemed to suggest that it wouldn't be much of a problem...

Thoughts please,

Thanks!

unless youre doing ALOT of content creation the chances you need more than 16 gbs is unlikely

1rst: When adding RAM, it must be exactly the same as the one you have installed, but even then there is no guaranty 100% it will work.

2nd: I dont think you need 32GB, 16GB is more than enough.

not true as long as its the same Speed and you don't mix and match sizes its fine as in 2, 4gb sticks and 2, 8gb sticks etc.

Thanks, and actually I do need more than 16GB. I do a lot of music composition and production which involves very large sample libraries being used at the same time as working with video. Often I'm at the limit of my 16GB, hence the need for this post to ask if it's possible.

You all seem to say that it's possible, but after a quick google (a couple of days back) I got MASSIVELY conflicting information saying that you shouldn't do it at all and there was no guarantee (similar to what Constantin said).
