i5-4690K for sure.

You don't even know what his use scenario is. How can you recommend a CPU then?

Hi im a long time fan of linus tech tips but just created an account in their forums can you guys help me build my rig i have a 1500 canadian dollars budget...what parts should i get with my budget??thank you in advance

We can help you pick the parts for your system, but you've to build it yourself obviously.

If you want us to pick parts for your system, we need to know what exactly you want to do with the system, if you need a monitor, mouse and keyboard and if aesthetics are important to you. If they're important to you, we need to know which case size and colors you prefer.

k, shouldn't be too much of a problem to build that. I have already an idea. I forgot to ask in which country you live. :P

philippines so i converted my budget to canadian :D

I'm done. I landed exactly on 1500,62 :P

There is a problem tho. Because you're living on the Philippines the prices can fluctuate a lot. You might be able to get better hardware in your country or the budget might not be enough to buy all of the parts, so you'll have to check prices yourself.

I've gone with an Xeon, simply because it supports hyper-threading, which will help you in multi-threaded tasks like video editing.

It's single core performance is not quite as good as an i5-4690k, but you could simply get an i5 if you want to. Then you might have to chnage the motherboard with a Z97 one.

But overall I'm really happy with the choice of parts. It's perfect for 1080p gaming, great for video editing and also will look really great. The Fractal case will also help a lot with noise. You shouldn't be able to hear that thing at all.

The PSU is modular, so that'll help you building the rig.
