Hi guys, I'm building a gaming desktop and these are the parts I have picked.

I wanted to know if I can play AAA titles at ultra setting above 60fps for at least 2-3 years. Also, I would like to know if instead of the GTX 970, I opt for a 4gbDDR5 GTX 960, will it tremendously affect my performance? And instead of the i5 4590, can I use a i5 4460, and how much will it affect my performance?

You can use an i5 4460 but go with an R9 390 instead.

 

Considering the fact that my 290 is still 60+ fps on a 1920x1200 monitor you should be fine for 3 years or more

I think you can, but only for like 1 to 2 years. But, as Linus said, future-proofing is a bit difficult.

Swap that GTX 970 to a R9 390. You'd be good to go with that for 2 years.

Also better PSU.

390 to replace that 970. 4460 is fine even a 4440 will be fine too. a good psu is one of the future proofing stuff tho so take a better one.
