These are the current speakers I'm using:

http://www.pcplanetsystems.com/abc/product_details.php?category_id=128&item_id=1696

I was considering getting some new sound equipment in the future and was wondering what would be a better option for me. I have to wear glasses so no headsets have ever been comfortable for me. If I had about $100 to spend on the audio equipment, which would be better: new speakers or headphones?

If I get speakers I would probably buy a blue snowball for a mic and if I went for headphones I'd get a mod mic (these aren't included in the $100). I think the speakers would allow me to be a little more comfortable than the headphones, but I have never tried a quality pair of headphones so I don't really know. I just want to hear some suggestions about what way to go and some good items in my price range.

Seeing as how helpful that is...I was looking more for suggestions of headphones that wouldn't bother my ears too much or be sweaty/uncomfortable in my price range.

I personally would go headphones but I don't where glasses.

I just got them last summer and the problem seems to be that the headphones push harder on my frames behind my ear, which leads to irritation and migraines.

Hmm what should I look for in a new pair of speakers if I do decide to get them? Also, is there a place like pcpartpicker for a pair of headphones? :o

You'll probably want to check out reviews for everything in your price range. You'll save a bit by buying a combo that includes a receiver + all speakers, but generally higher quality audio electronics will be sold separately by speaker and receiver. Unfortunately there is no way to compare headphones prices, if there were it would be pretty useless due to the intricacies of each different pair.

Your only option here is headphones. If you go with something like I posted in the previous thread or with Beyers, you should be alright. Try and find felt covered over and not on ear headsets. Avoid pleater when using glasses.

I'm planning on getting the audio technica AD900X and by what people have said they are really really comfortable, but they are $200. I have glasses and sweat easily so I understand your problem.

Why not those headphones where it's a little wire and the thing in your ear and get a separate mic?

those never stay in for me.

The sweat part was for more of those days where I can lounge all day xP

It's a bit out of date but it should help a little. SR80i seems like your best bet but I don't know how comfortable those are. The ATH AD700's are great too, really comfortable, but the way they sound might not suit your tastes.

I looked at beyer and their cheapest one that looked good were: http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-AMS-DT-990-Pro-250-Professional-Acoustically-Applications/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1376846006&sr=1-1&keywords=headphones+beyerdynamic

I may consider them since this would be a christmas/birthday present for me I just wanted to keep it kind of low though :P

Those are at an incredible price at the moment - I'm considering buying a pair myself. I'd definitely grab them if I were in your position.

What's wrong with adding $50 to your budget if you'll be buying something that'll last you decades:)

Good point, technically I'll probably be receiving them :P

I hope they're the same price or lower in a couple months.
