My ISP sucks!

Apparently, my internet is fine.

 

My internet goes out when:

• When it rains
• When it's about to rain
• When it's too sunny out
• When it feels like it
• Around 11pm
• Around 5am

My modem has a bunch of lights. On, receiving packets, sending packets, and online. It can receive all day long but can't send. A friend down the street, when my internet goes out, his kind of hicups, goes out for a split second.

 

Now this is a complaining thread for everyone that hates their isp, but if you know what's going wrong here then feel free to help.

 

Anyway, Fuck Metrocast.

Im from California, so obviously the ISP are amazing. never in my life had an internet problem

Is it possible that there is a bad conection to your house? Faulty cable?

Come to Australia, go a few hundred Km inland and you will have tons of fun I promise, jokes aside untill my house gets fiber I am stuck with what I debate to be the slowest Australian internet speed 300Kbps it is just the bare minimum, and my provider says you can get a max of 20mb on their network ( there is no speed options what you get is what you are given) I doubt its their fault its just that we have really really really crap copper internet cables around my house and they do shit all if you go 100 meters down the road you can get wireless fiber or really good copper SO MAD

I love my ISP I just hate ADSL and my @~~! router. Other than that my ISP is gold, they're very very helpful. I shouldn't have many problems for much longer with ADSL and a @~~! router as I plan on upgrading to fibre and getting Skys new Sky Hub which is really good apparently. Despite the lack of Gigabit ports.

Most likely, but they say it's fine and won't fix it. I live in the country side, where the amish live and the farms grow. So I may be the only one complaining.

I get barely 100KB/sec with my ISP who also happens to own a monoply in my country and is sadly goverment owned- MTNL. Its so bad that I actually use my phones hotspot while gaming :P

My ISP in the UK is great but the one I had before which was AOL was terrible with the capped upload and 10GB usage...

My ISP is pretty ok, my actual connection is crap though as I live out in the country.

I live in a big city. If I try to go wired I get below 300Kb/s. So I'm sticking with Expensive 3G instead. Not much faster though.

It goes down in rain, wind, and rush hours. Or even without a reason, just because it wants to piss me off.

Paying $50 for 5Mbit ups and downs and unlimited usage of suffering. No disconnections when raining but they give this little message when their stock router(or their service, I don't know which)"limited connectivity" with that warning symbol down on my network tray icon. Other than that, I think my government is scamming me because they're using fiber optic and the highest package I can subscribe is 20Mbit. All packages have equal ups and downs. Staff who works there gets 50Mbit up and downs iirc.

My ISP has upgraded our exchange but not our cabinet. So we have ADSL2+ on our exchange, so up to 24Mbps, but we're limited to a max of 6 at the cabinet which is still only ADSL due to the bastards not upgrading the extra infrastructure. BT... Where is your logic at?
