Memory Upgrade

I want to upgrade my memory by 16gbs. I currently have 8gbs (2x4) DDR4 at 2400. is it okay to put the same brand and speed of memory in but it is 16gbs (2x8)? giving a total of 24gbs of memory, does it matter if they are different sizes but everything thing else is the same.

That should be fine.  It is with DDR3 and I don't think that's changed at all

I would just make sure to keep the same sizes in the same colored slots.

 

or check motherboard manual to make sure same kits are on the same channel
