Help choosing CPU

Hey guys,

i am currently helping my friend for a build and both of us are confused in getting either i5 4670k or 17 3770k or i7 4770k  ( we shop from http://www.flipkart.com/computers/computer-components/processors/pr?p%5B%5D=sort%3Dpopularity&sid=6bo%2Cg0i%2C17w) and we are thinking of a mobo too.Any more suggestions for cpu is also appreciated ??

 

Particularly he would be ocverclocking and his budget for mobo is around 100$.

What is he going to use the system for? If he is going to play games got with a I5 4670K. If he is doing any editing ot modelling go with a I7 4770K

Then get the 4770k.

If he does a lot of video rendering I would suggest the I7 4770K or I7 3770K, depending on how much he want to overclock.

He wants to overclock upto 4.7 ghz then i7 4770k or i7 3770k and guys what about the Motherboard??

A good overclocking enabled motherboard for 100$ does not exist, you need to allocate a larger budget for the motherboard by cutting a different part of the build, possibly getting an i5 4670K instead of an i7.

A good all round motherboard is the MSI Z87 G45.

You see the 150 $ motheboard may cost like 200$ so i was getting a little less.

Any ore suggestions i could check into.

Yes, consider grabbing an H87 motherboard, Asus Gigabyte and Asrock all have released BIOS files that allow overclocking on these boards.

If you really going to overclock i would recommend the 3770k as it overclock better than the haswell CPUs. As for the motherboard for $100 is not really achievable. For a good overclockable motherboard you would want to allocate $140 - $200. I am not really sure about the currency conversion but here are some choices that perform well that are in stock on the site you shop from.
