Not sure if this would have went into case modding or not, but i just put it in the Case and psu section sorry if that was wrong

Oh my bad i meant to include that i would just mount it to the bottom so i would have to open the right side panel to access it, and it would be behind the PSU shroud

You could just use an external optical drive. That way you don't have to go off the deep end trying to mod one in.

if you use disk drives a bunch then get a different case. If it's for seldom use, get a usb disk drive
