Overclocking 6300 problems

so i recently overclocked my amd fx 6300 to 4.2 ghz and voltage to 1.36 with boost off with a h60 water cooler. Max temp gets to 47C but for some reason my computer keeps crashing randomly after a long period of time with no consistancy. so Im asking if anyone know what the problem could be or if you have a solution or just some tips. I could just all the help i can get. If anyone wants more info about my system or settings just ask

and I assume max temp thats idle... not under load...

What's most likely happening is that your CPU isn't stable.

 

Are you running stress tests after the overclock?

low temps != stable OC

 

Other than that, I don't have any XP with AMD CPU's so I can't be too much help there. It does seem like that may be the upper limit of what your chip is capable of.

No the max temp is 46 under load atleast thats what aida64 is telling me

If it crash bump voltage if that doesnt work then you may hit its limit but you should not go over 1.425v keep in mind some boards may fry...

Use AMD Overdrive to check temps!

are you living in Antarctica by any chance?

because 46c is not realistic in near any scenario...

i ran aida for about 10min with no problem. so i  dont see why running below max load would be an issue

probably you need to rise your cpu voltage, temps are fine and it doesn't seem a huge overclock so i don't think that your chip's limit is 4.2 ghz

stability doesnt depend on temperature if the temperature is below max

you need to increase voltage to increase stability

alright, lets say i would raise it to 1.5 just to be safe? or would it be better to hit a certain number?

as i said, i could use all the help i can get, im fairly new with overclocking

you need to increase the voltage by small increments until it becomes stable while remaining below the maximum temperature

 

basically go watch a bunch of videos and learn how to do it properly or you're probably going to ruin something

just raise your cpu voltage step by step using +/- on your numberpad and run a stress test every time untill you stop crashing

as it took about 5hours for the computer to crash, i just dont have the that time

You'll just need to make the time because that's the only way you'll know it's stable.
