Weird stuff with computer!

well here's the deal my girlfriend's littlebrother's friend has a major problem with his computer!

 

I'll quote: " okay, so

when i boot up my computer, it takes longer time than usual for me to get to the login screen. after i log in, the login ''process'' takes even longer time than usual, then when my desktop comes up, everything is super slow, and when i try to open a program it says: not enough memory. Besides, i've also had blue screen chrashes since i got my pc 2 years ago

Any idea what it is and is it possible to fix it with out going to a repairer?

Are there any processes you don't recognise in Task Manager? Also try Malwarebytes to rule out any malware.

Well step one is finding out if it actually is his RAM that's causing the problem.

defragging or go in start type run then type in msconfig and go to start up tap, then uncheck any that is useless, or upgrade some ram, if it is a laptop then look for what type of ddr and mhz
