Hi there! I've been fascinated  sense the first 3D printer ( consumer) printer came out a few years back.. They are getting much closer to my price range so is now a good time to jump in?

I'd like to get a nice 3D printer that will last a few years at minimum. Dont want to buy one and two years later have to buy another. Could anyone give any good recommendations? and reasons why they recommend that? my budgets open at the moment. Dont wanna waste money by any means.. but also dont wanna buy a cheaper one and regret it.

well i dont know a lot of them but i know that the tech with 3D printing is moving really fast so if you get a less nice one now it will probably only last you(tech wise) about a year two so getting a nicer one will last you longer probably but seing as i have no clue were the tech is actiually moving tomorow there might be a really improtant thing for future printers discovered and all the old ones are therefor basicly usless but i have no clue get a nice one is my only advice, one that hase a good print res

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

3D printing is evolving right now faster than it ever has, its really tough to tell what is around the corner, but its probably the worst possible time to buy one if you want it to be "future-proof".

Finally big companies like HP are starting to release 3D printers, so I would at least wait a year to see how that effects the market and if it causes a push to a newer/better technology or not.
