Need some help and feedback on the build I want, pretty new at this

JinRai

Hey all,

For quit some time now I've wanted to build a nice gaming pc for myself. I either never had the money or space for it. I always played games on my laptop. Now I've reached a point where I can;t run the games I want to play, so my laptop needed an upgrade. I wanted to buy a gaming laptop, since I'll be traveling a lot too, but saw that they are either over-kill on the price or just not good enough for the price. They even tend to look like sports cars, not a huge fan of that. Since I live in EU, I can't buy a Razer Pro 17 nor a Origin. Soon I'll be moving to a new house and I'll have the cash and space to  finally build a nice gaming pc. So, I decided to build a gaming pc. I've done some research on the matter, checked a lot of video's on youtube and reviews on components. I came up with a build I want. Don't want it to be really THE best, but rather great-for-gaming-for-at least-5-years build. I really need some tips and feedback on the build. I'll wanted to have an gaming pc for between 2000- 2500 euro's (2 265 - 2 832 USD).

The build I got is:

CPU: Intel Core i7-5930K / 3.5 GHz - 15 MB cache (Socket: 2011-3)
GPU: MSI GTX 980Ti Gaming 6G (expand to SLI later when I have more cash)
Motherboard: A MSI X99S GAMING 7, Processor socket: 2011-3, SLI, RAM sockets DDR4
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2133 MHz 2x8GB
Case: IN WIN 707
SSD:
   - 120GB Kingston HyperX FURY for the OS
   - 250GB Crucial BX100 for my games
HDD: Seagate Baracuda ST1000 (1T) for back-up and other files
Power supply: Corsair CX Series Modular CX750M
Cooling:
-Fans: Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 2000 RPM Red LED x3 (went for the cheapest)
-Liquid: Corsair Hydro Series H110i GT High Performance Liquid CPU (went for a decent one)
Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE (cheapest, since I'll be using headsets all the time)
Wifi-chip/Internet acces thingy: 50 euro's max (haven't decided yet, not sure what to do here nor which to get)

Hope you guys can help me further with this and to gain some feedback and tips.

Thanks

Owo are you only gaming on it? If you are only gaming, you could save money by only going for a 6700k versus a 6 core. Heck, you could probably do fantastic with an i5

I'd also buy something like an 850w Powersupply if you do want to SLI. Just so you have some OC room and wiggle room 3:

Only quoted what you may need to change

Don't get an i7 unless you plan to stream or do production, an i5 is just as good for gaming.

You don't need 16gb if you want to save cash, 8gb is enough.

Don't get that case it's terrible, look at Phanteks, NZXT, Fractal Design.

Western Digital HDD's are usually preferred to SeaGate, but this is fine.

Don't get a CX PSU, try an EVGA GS Series.

You may regret getting the cheapest fans you could find, look up Noctua if you do.

Soundcard, you don't need one.

Wifi-chip/whatever you don't need one.

Those are both provided by your motherboard and will be adequate until you decide you really want to step it up someday. (stepping up audio that is)

I really prefer the NZXT H440(Email them, request the newest one) or the Fractal Design r5. Very epic cases. 16 gigs I believe in, just incase owo Everything else, I agree with from upper post.

With that budget I'd say SeaSonic is the way to go - G/X-series are what I recommend.

Fans are fans. They all push air in one direction and most will get the job done just fine. Some have lights which make them cooler =)

That being said however, some fans are definitely better then others. So basically spend what you're comfortable spending, just remember that cheaper fans would have a lesser build quality to that of a more expensive one(like the noctuas).

Onboard sound isn't that bad now, I'd skip the Audigy personally.

I'd still change out the case though.. for a Define R5.. Its the perfect, silent computer 3:

I got myself a define R5, haven't bought the rest of the computer that will be going it but i put an old one in it...because you know...why not. The case is absolutely amazing and I love it, definitely recommended.
