I sent this message to g.skill :

Hi, I bought just 8gb(2x4gb) of ddr4 memory for my asus x99 deluxe cause I ran out of budget.

And now I want to now something.

Can I buy another kit of 8gb of the same ram and will it function alright? =16gb 4x4gb?

And for the future, can I put 3 kits of this ram too? 24gb 6x4gb?

And they answer that:

And a second mail:

Dear Customer,

Mixing memory kits, even of the same model number, may result in compatibility issue. G.SKILL will guarantee the compatibility for single memory kit only.

However, if you planning mixing the memory kits at the same time, you may have to lower the DRAM frequency or raising DRAM voltage to make the system getting stable.

Best Regards

Then... If I want more ram what I have to do is throw away the kit that I already have and buy a new kit of 16gb?

Its not recommended to mix kits as its rare for the two sets of Ram to be exactly the same or within a certain percentage of performance between each other.

You can do it though, I doubt it will be an issue to your system.

No. It will work fine. They are completely full of shit.

Just get more of the same ram later and you will never have any issues at all.

He was literally talking about buying a second one of the same kits. It will work perfectly fine. That Customer Support person had no idea what the fuck they were talking about.

Here is the deal, is the RAM on the QVL list?  If yes, then sure it will work.

Gskills is pretty infamous for not having their popular kits being on a lot of QVL lists.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!
