Improving Cellular Reception In Basement

I live in a basement suite that has very poor cellular reception. It's very difficult to make and receive calls. Calls frequently drop, etc

 

Is there any sort of device out there that can improve my cellular reception in the basement?

Nope, especially if your ceiling is made of cement.

What carrier do you have? Some carriers have range extenders or "micro cells" that you can put in your house for better reception. Here is AT&T's, theirs uses your homes internet connection for data and texts:

You can ask your carrier to supply you a mini cell tower thing that uses wifi. You can also use the wifi calling features if your phone and carrier supports them.

i called rogers and they weren't very helpful

Well, it appears that Rogers doesn't have WiFi calling for non business customers. I came across this thread Which I'll summarize by saying its a bunch of confusion and no direct answers. It also looks like it only supports iOS devices from looking at this site: http://www.rogers.com/business/on/en/smallbusiness/shop/wireless/wifi/

They are, and the worst part is that they dont always work (various reasons), so if you do get one make sure it has a good return policy, just in case.
