Had some left over spare parts from my old build and decided to complete the set and build a rig around it instead of letting it rot. Please pardon my pics as they're from my handphone. This is my first time assembling a pc without any guidance so hopefully nothing goes wrong

Nice spare parts build. You should get a hyper 212 though.

  • 3 months later...

sorry for the late reply :S. Looks like the 870 decided its time was up. so i had to save for a new mobo+ CPU :/. The 670 stays, though. For now, here are some pics of the new arrivals.

This very little tyke arrived a few months ago.. waiting for the perfect mobo to marry.

Do some cable management!

the source 210 has great cable management for a budget case.

Aesthetics of rigs matter

Started assembly of it right there. Everything was going well right until.. well the power supply. First thing i noticed was that the Mobo only had a 4 pin connecter but the PSU modular, had only a 8 pin connecter with the other end hardwired into the psu. I have no other spare cables right there and the extra slots on the psu are taken up by the gpu.

did you just downgrade an i7 into an APU A10 6800k? :o

you can't even OC with that 4 pin CPU power...

When 2 things meet each other, Quantum stuff happens.

Yeah. Had no choice though. The cpu shorted out and its not rly a gaming rig but for websurfin and light gaming.

Hi guys! Finally finished the build as of a few minutes ago. I had to source for a 8-4pin adapter for my mobo and it runs fine now. It puts out considerable grunt thanks to the 670 on 331.93 drivers.

Temps are abit on the high part though, 39 degs idling, not helped by the stock cooler.

Removing the stock thermal paste.

The replacement. Its not the best on the market, but does a decent job.

Done. Affixing the cooler back.

Attaching the 670 into the mobo

It runs. i have a total of 4 fans but sadly only 2 are usable because of the lack of fan <3 on the mobo. :(
