I have not been able to decide whether to go with two gpus or one. For example i can go with two 980s or one 980 ti, I have seen videos explaining which is better, but there are mixed answers. So heres my question. What are the benefits of have one gpu vs two, or what are the benefits of having two vs one.

Biggest thing you need to know about sli, sli performance isnt at all consistaint sometimes you will see 80%+ fps increase (rare) other times a game will run worse on 2 cards (also pretty rare...but 80+% increase is more rare...)

at first I thought this was a phone thread

honestly it depends on the games you'll be playing

do they support SLI well? if so, 2 would probably be better

if not, one is the way to go

there are also other factors such as heat dissipation, because obviously with 2 cards you'll be producing more heat so you'll need to cool down those cards

also, it's louder to have two cards vs 1 (usually)

I guess it be better to go with 1. Seems like two would give more problems.
