Asus Z170 WS

I still don't understand this motherboard and why it exists. It should have the C236 chipset, not Z170. The only thing I can think of is that Asus are trying to push Intel for E3 V5 support.

Their ws boards has always used consumer chipsets back since socket 775. Unless you went dual socket, then it will use a server chipset. Their p4g8x deluxe was a consumer board with a server chipset.

bit disapointing that it only comes with 2 USB 3.1 ports.

 

edit:

Assuming those are the same on/reset buttons on the board as the z170 deluxe then that's disappointing too. You try to build a colour-matching build only to have these red and green lights on the bottom whenever the board is powered... not great.
