Can I animate game character?

I'd like to take a character from a mmo game and animate the way I like it to. Is this first of all technically possible at all? And what type of software do I need/hardware? Maybe take screenshots from all sides of the character and the software can create a 3D Model of it? hahah maybe my imagination is just reaching too high again :p

It's possible. I don't think anyone could walk you through it effectively for you to do it though, unfortunately. :/

My suggestion would be you take several screen shots of the character you want and then use a 3d modeling program such Blender and create the 3d model

When you have the model completed you can animate it like you want and output the animation to a movie

It needs a lot of time and patience but I've seen beautifully made 3d animations
