I made this post on The apple forums but I received no response.

I'm constantly running out of space and I can't seem to find out why. My current storage I can use shows as 13.2gb out of the 16 (iOS 7.1.2 taking about 2.8gb I'm guessing) But I totaled up the storage used for all the apps and they don't equal the 12.7gb that my iPhone is showing I am using. Everything totaled up (not including anything below 50mb because I didn't bother) to a little over 7gb. So that means there's about 5 and a half gb of storage that is magically used up. Why is this.

Did words like "cache & cookies" means something to you?

iOS clears the cache if the device gets full enough. Mine has gone to 0 mb free recently so it should have been emptied. Either way, there's no manual way to clear cache on an iPhone.

What about picures, movies, cache or other random storage?

Pictures and movies are part of the currently used space.

Don't give a fuck how iOS manage things. No matter iOS or Android- "strangely" missing storage always is caused by "cache & cookies". You ask for a reason and you get answer- can you clear that shits manually is your problem, not mine...

English is not my maternal language, so don't mind my mistakes...

That's not a solution.
