HDMI problem

Go to solution Solved by Glenwing,

One more questien, If I have HDMI to DVI it is basically like a HDMI, and a DVI to HDMI like DVI? (confusing)

It's whatever the monitor side is. If you go from HDMI (GPU) to DVI display, it's the same as DVI.  If you go from DVI (GPU) to HDMI display, it's the same as HDMI.

So I finally got my HDMI cable and when the monitor (BenQ vw2245) turns on it says "Input: DVI" and when I try to change the input, there's only D-sub and DVI, and no HDMI.

Even if you cycle through it multiple times?

I've never had this happen with the G2450HM or the G2450 or the GL2450 or the GL2450HM. I think we even have a GL2460.

Sig under construction.

The VW2245 doesn't have HDMI input... it only has VGA and DVI. Are you using a DVI to HDMI cable or something?

That monitor doesn't even have a HDMI port to begin with.

Which HDMI port have you plugged into, the mobo or graphics cards?

HDMI on all of the devices I have used will not enable if its not getting signal even if its plugged into corresponding devices.

Plugged into the gpu, and apparentaly I have a hdmi to dvi cable, I guess I'm not a smart person.

And I thought I had a good monitor, thank you. And also, how do I mark the post as solved?

There's a "Mark Solved" button at the bottom of any post you can use to mark the best answer.
