I recently purchased and built a new rig for myself  and I had some questions about what to change when i upgrade down the road here's my specs

 AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz AM3+ 8-Core

ASUS SaberTooth 990FX R2.0 AMD 990FX (wanted the Gen3 but they were sold out everywhere at the time)

G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (4gbx4)DDR3 1600

Thermaltake TR2 TR-600 600W

GigaByte GV-R667D3-2GI Radeon HD 6670 2GB 128-bit DDR3

NZXT Phantom PHAN-001BK Black (orignal Phantom style FTW)

2x Hitachi Sata2 320gb HDD's (game/media storage)

1x Hitachi Sata2 500gb HDD (game storage)

1x Hitachi Sata2 160gb HDD (boot drive)

1x LG Sata DVD-r/CD-R Burner

I wanna upgrade (down the road) to a pair of:

EVGA SuperClocked 02G-P4-2765-KR GeForce GTX 760 2GB

256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support w/ EVGA ACX Cooler Video Cards

My question is with the CPU, Mobo, and Memory meantioned above what PSU wattage can i add so i can get everything up and running and still be able to do a light mod upgrade further down the road using

LOGISYS Computer CLK15BL 15" Blue Deluxe Sound Activated Cold Cathode Light Kits

thank you for taking the time to read this

PS - I hope i posted this in the proper forum section, thanks again.

I'm pretty sure 600w will be enough to power that system.

For SLI, you'd want to get a 750W PSU from a reputable brand. This is just for head room.

Also, since you're going to be upgrading to SLI 760 "down the road", it'd make sense to see what AMD brings to the table soon, before settling on that pair of GPUs.

600w psu with 2x 760 cards is really enough?

Edit: Wow such fast responces I'll have to thank my friend for sending me here

Hmmm I guess I'll go for a 750watt 80gold modular psu i honestly thought that with each 760 card asking for 450watts each would mean i'd need a 1200watt psu or somewheres near that

A decent 600-650w is enough.

Yeah, we're like that. Welcome to the forums. :)

A 750w gold is overkill. Even a 700w bronze is plenty.

The entire system with a 760 would take 450 watts, not the card alone.

Like the others have mentioned, wait for 9XXX series.

As for your build and upgrades, I suggest getting a single 7950/7970 instead. They're very cheap and out perform the 760/neck to neck with the 770. Also, get an ssd--it makes a world of difference.
