hey guys,

so I just noticed that my ram usage since I installed Win 10 is pretty high.  I dont have any special programs running, but even without the currently opened GTa V download, and after a fresh restart without opening extra programs, my usgae will still slowly go up till it reaches 90% at some point (dont have a screenshot with 90). The funny thing is that playing games or rendering in aDobe PRemiere Pro still runs as flawlessly as always, but as I said, after a restart it sitll goes up, I also disabled the anti virus program to see if its causing this issue, but its not, it uses like 1% of the Ram. I read on the internet (http://lifehacker.com/why-is-windows-10s-system-process-using-so-much-ram-1725076206) that Win10 puts more data on the RAM as long as the ram is not needed completely instead of the page file on the hard drive. What do you guys think, as I said, everything runs like on WIn 8.1, where the ram usage was usually lower.

thanks in advance!

PS: closing social club wont help, also Arbeitsspeicher is the RAM

Afaik that's pretty normal now with Win10.

My RAM usage is currently at 28% (4.5 GB), but Photoshop is open which uses 1GB alone.

I would deactivate stuff like Cortana and other usess garbage that you don't need.
Have a look at this. I recommend to uninstall everything that came with Win10, which the video will show you how to do:

Sometimes I have noticed the Windows Updating service eats a lot of memory. Try stopping the Windows Update service withing Start Menu > Administrative Tools > Services, or press WindowsKey + R and type services.msc. The service is named "Windows Update" on Windows 10. I think this is a cause of update scanning and downloading in the background in preparation for updates.

well i am not gonna disable that, I assume that windows doesnt always do that, only when there is actually an update available which is like once a month :P

If you refer back to what I said, I asked you to stop the service and set it to manual. I never asked you to disable the service. This will simply make it so that the Windows Update service only "updates" or searches for updates when you want it to. It is a troubleshooting step to see if this helps your performance or not. You can always start the service right after you turn it off if it does not help. The change should take effect immediately, and won't effect anything except for Memory usage.

I also stated that it eats memory as it scans for updates. Just because windows releases an update once a month (also not true) doesnt mean the service is not scanning for that update that is not out yet.

Again, it is just a troubleshooting step to see if this will help your performance.

Close Chrome, It's a RAM hog. Look at how much ram you're using afterward.

I'm personally using 2.5GB of RAM, I only have firefox open and a few other things like steam and trillian.

i know that chrome uses a bit more ram than mozilla firefox or edge, but I usually only have one tab or so opened. I might also get myself another 2x4GB DDR3 since ram prices jumped from 65€ per 2x4Gb kit, to ~50€
