Im planning on starting a gaming youtube channel, Should i get the gtx 970, or the r9 390 by msi... Which one for editing, gaming, all that stuff?

R9 390 - Sony Vegas is literally twice as fast with a 390 compared to a 970

ARK is a bit difficult to run for any GPU, Ex, Titan X can't run ultra 60 fps on 1080p. Don't expect to run it on ultra

There are 2 or 3 DX12 benchmarks out there right now, until DX12 is mainstream and drivers from both sides are mature, stop spouting this.

2017 - there are only 184 DX12 games - Nvidia still working on Maxwell drivers

DX12 is still extremely early on, the drivers from both sides aren't going to be near what they will be in, say, 2017.

You are trying to grab on to a straw that was cut a long time ago - Maxwell can't do A-sync compute - it's been proven and confirmed. You're just going to have to accept this and move on.

DX11 will stay mainstream for a good few years, by the time DX12 is big it'll be time to upgrade from this 970 anyway, so nothing has been lost and nothing gained, I'd rather have it with crippled A-Sync over a 390x any day

That graph originated on Reddit after a novice programmer attempted to "prove" something - he himself admitted he didn't know what he was doing.

As for games - DX12 games are out in a few months - Ashes is out in November and Deus Ex in February.
