Hi, im new to the forum, but been a 'follower' for quite a while now, and since im having a little trouble figuring out what to upgrade on my pc, i decided to ask you guys.

Normally i like to do my own research and decide everything on my own, but i've hitted a wall here.....

So let's get to it, i managed to save a bit of money, and if you haven't figured it out by now i intend to upgrade my pc....

So my specs are:

Cpu- I5 4760k @ 4.9

Mobo- Gigabyte Z87x-D3H

Gpu- Asus R9 290x

Ram- 8gb ddr3 ripjaws somethin.....

SSD- 256gb Kingston

HDD- 1tb seagate black

Hdd- 1tb Seagate red

hdd- 2x 500gb toshiba somethin...

Power source- 650W something....

Sorry bout the lack of specifics but i dont think they will really matter for now....

So obvioulsy i want to put more ram, but since i dont know if im going to change the mobo I havent done it yet(most new mobos come with ddr4 requirement\possibility)

i Have about 800 bucks to spend.

I already look at relatively new processors, mainly the i7 6700k, and 5820k, but didnt think it was actually worth it.

replacing parts out getting 'rid' of current ones isnt hard for me since im planning in using those parts to build a pc for my parents...

So i could really use some help here.

Oh almost forgot, the pc is used to 'MAINLY'(90% of the time) Gaming, a bit of designing and 3d modeling.

Thanks in advanced and as costume -Sry for the bad English -

if its in the wrong topic sorry about that but it seemed the most appropriate.

You probably don't need a new CPU.

Maybe upgrade your power supply and crossfire your 290x with a 390x? or even a 390, depends if your motherboard has x8 x8 support, though you can crossfire with x8 and x4 for a bit of a performance hit.

Although since it supports SLI it's probably x8 x8

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Since my 290x its just a 4gb im not sure it will work with a 390x(i only seen 8gb ones so far unless thats not an issue, i have no idea im a complete blank page on crossfire\sli)

btw my mobo has x8 x8 support

The 390/x would just be limited to 4GBs, DX12 might change that, but doubtful that it would work out too well.
