Alright,so ive been having some probs with ingame performance the past month, ive figured out most of it through hard trial and error, and with all the stuff I did, today I unplugged my CD-DVD-ROM since I havent been using it and I said why the heck not, after I did that,Im seeing a slight improve in performance, idk why but Im suspecting my PSU is starrting to fail at delivering power to all of the components succesfully. My PSU is a CX500M(yes,I know...a CX power supply in a mid range gaming system, dont throw tomatoes at me)and Ive just went through a rough summer, where I saw my HDD going up to 36 degrees, which could indicate the inside of the actual case is getting even hotter,i have 2 120mm,exhaust and intake, but Ive been informed that in temperatures above 30 degrees the PSU starts to crumble..Let me know if it can be tha,so I can order a new PSU,been thinking of either the CM series,or smth else, please let me know.

You are absolutely covered wattage wise, must be because of another reason. How are you CPU, GPU temps.

Possible PSU failure > Looks at specs

>inb4 CX hate.

The point is,due to the horible temperature tolerance of the CX,it may have been damaged during the (hot) summer....Also,about the CX hate, ive gottan used to it :P

CPU while gaming never goes above 50,GPUs max is 60,never goes above...

So nothing is throttling that is for sure, can you explain the slowdowns that you get in detail.

So nothing is throttling that is for sure, can you explain the slowdowns that you get in detail.

Lets start by saying that Ive done all of these:

1)Complete uninstallation and cleanup of the graphics drivers and reinstallation of said drivers.

2)Rolling back to previous drivers.

3)Thouroughly cleaning the system up,altho it wasnt dusty at all I keep it very clean.

4) Checking Hard Drive status and then defragging it,no problems there.

5)Downgrading back to Windows 7 after I updated to Windows 10,didnt solve my issue

6)Checking my RAM with Memory Diagnostic and memtest, altho I didnt do a full out test in memtest,it still had no errors, plus I dont think my RAM is causing it.

7)Completely formating my hard drive and doing a clean reinstallation of everything.

8)Swapping out stock cooler and thermal paste,to a arctyic silver 5 and a 212 Evo.

9)Checked for any malicious programs and viruses with Malware-bytes,no results there.

10)Checked for any background.unwanted procceses in the background, nothing.

11)Checked for any power saving modes, both on the OS and the BIOS,none.

12)Tried OCing my CPU incase there was a bottleneck, nothing, reverted back.

13)Checked if a component was thermal throttling, none are.CPU is now always under 55 GPU under 60 while ingame.

14)Updated Chipset drivers.

15)Updated BIOS to a newer version, brough up some additional problems but no effect on performance.

The things I noticed where the fact I was getting tremendous FPS drops in games I havent gotten ANY problems on,for example, playing on Dust_2 in CS caused the game to crash after playing at around 80 frames, while I used to play at 200+....After I did the above it has gotten better, but still aint what It used to.

One thing I would try is running aida64. If it crashes quickly it might be a psu issue. If you try taking the side panel off and blowing a big fan into it and it works, it might be a thermal issue.

Hm,I downloaded Aida64,but I cant figure out how to run a stress test for the CPU,tried stress testing for about 15 mins with CPU-Z,that didnt show any probs...Also,as I said none of the components is throttling, mentioned the temps above...Only think that could be overheating are the VRMs but my MOBO has a heatsink on em...

XFX is a company who make GPU coolers and PSUs. The latter, however, is only partially true as they basically rebrand seasonic PSUs and sell them. So it's very good.
