Prepare for the asshats that are going to tell you bad things and all the ways your dumb for not being with the "master race"

I'd go with an Xbox. I love Forza and the Japanese cars it has.

If you have a decent PC already, then get a PS4. Better exclusives, and they dont have a kinect which can be remotely connected to...

What games do you want to play on the console?

This is really personal preference, which console to get.

Think about the games that you want to play and ask yourself the following:

Do I you have a PC that  can play those games?

Can you play those games at decent resolutions and FPS on your pc?

If there are games on the console that you want, can you get them on pc?

If you cant get those games on PC what console are they on?

Are those games on both PS4 and XBone?

If they are all exclusive on that console then get that one.

If there is a mix of both get the one that has the most titles available now and that are up for release very soon.

Rare reply where I don't tell you to get a pc or compare console to pc.

I have both consoles and I think I prefer the xbox for it's exclusives. Its really a debate between games like Driveclub/Unchartered/Bloodborne against Forza/Halo/Tomb Raider(for a year).

I'd go for xbox because I prefer forza over driveclub (although I did like driveclub). The only downside for the xbox is that the ps4 does run better than the xbox and the operating system is smoother. The resolution differences are just publicity talking points, 900p vs 1080p etc. I did notice the difference on one game (the original remake of Tomb Raider) as this was 30fps on xbox one and 60fps on ps4.

Pick the console with your friends on if you do multiplayer or decide on which exclusives you prefer.

Here's a flowchart for my response:

1. Do you already have a PC, PS4 or XBOne?

Yes -> Get a Wii U for something different

No -> See #2

2. Are you a huge fan of one of the console exclusive franchises (Uncharted/Halo/Zelda)?

Yes -> Get the corresponding console so you can play them

No -> See #3

3. Are you going to mostly play by yourself, online with friends or local-multi?

online -> Get the system your friends have so you can play with them

local-multi -> Get a Wii U for the "party games"

by myself -> See #4

4. Is this going to be a budget, plug and play device for your 1080p TV or something else?

something for my TV -> PS4

something else -> PC

Fools think they know everything, experts know they know nothing
