Samsung vs Hynix?

I've only seen Hynix in the stuff I've bought, but then again I only have a 6870 and 760...

Hynix was the original developer of HBM, where as Micron & Samsung both co-developed GDDR5 with JEDEC.

Samsung is generally considered better, though I have seen hynix push some stupid clocks. Although, iirc people wanted hynix for the old lightning 780 because it overclocked well so I have no idea what's going off.

 

I wouldn't make a huge deal about the VRAM brand tbh.

I personally prefer SK Hynix - Samsung memory usually OCs better but I've seen it also have more stability issues with the high clocks.
