Scrap yard pc resurrection

So I was looking for pc's for sale and came across a

HP Pavilion a6200n for 20$ !! So I looked on the add and here's the thing it doesn't boot so he's selling it for parts, my plan is to grab it, runs some tests to see what's dead, if it's easily replaceable fix it and sell it for 80-100$, or keep it as a Nas pc as theres a 1.2 TB Seagate drive for 40$ cad for sale, and I have drives layoff around, should I get it ?

Most people know bugger-all about computers, though. It's pretty easy to flip cheap systems for profit. I don't, because I'm not a dick, but my friends do.

cad first, and you would be surprised what used systems cost in my area, pc's from 2003 running xp are gettung 80$

I can make 30 in ram and hdd alone if I parted it out, I just sold a guy 1gb ddr 2 for 5$ hhds in my area are going for 25$ for 250 gb drives, and such btw I'm in canada so prices are higher here

I'm not a dickhead either but it would be a decent chrome pc for someone who isn't doing much

not truly in it for the money but for the satisfaction of fixing a dead pc, but the money is a nice bonus

Oh I wasn't implying you were. I meant that I know people that do next to nothing to a system (maybe dust it and refresh Windows, if that) and just sell it again. At least you'd be fixing it.

Last night I found a computer on ebay that was worth $80, it had a cheap GPU and a Q6600 he also claimed it cost "4k when I bought it"

 

I also found a computer with a 478 P4 without hyperthreading with 512MB Ram and the seller said "Perfect for Students"

Ya, k so decent good news, the pc does turn on bit it won't boot into windows, would you know any possible problems ? From this the psu mobo and cpu are good so I can make my money back from parts right there so I might for for it.

if you get a bios splash screen all that's wrong is the windows install

ok picked iy up for a mad 15$, need a hella good dusting for one as its never been opened, second theres a windows key on the side, would that still work to activate windows if i were to wipe the drive and do a fresh install ?  havent had the time to try and fire it up yet, im going to bring it in the garage to dust it off tomo and try and find a vga cable for my monitor
