(edit: updated rig)

So I want to get into PC Gaming sooner or later, and I put this together as something I might want to get. However, I'm not sure if its any good or will work at all, so please let me know what you think of the build. :D My current pc is a garbage laptop with an i3-3310M at, wait for it, 2.4 ghz. The graphics aren't any good either, Intel HD built-in graphics, and struggle to even achieve 30 fps on MINECRAFT in single-player. I also want to get into some PC games but don't want to make any purchases until I have a pc that can handle them. I use one 1080p ASUS HDMI monitor for my games, and an old 720p Dell VGA monitor for web browsing and file managing.

You did really well, except for two things that I noticed. You should use more than one stick of RAM so you can have dual-channel. And the PSU you picked isnt really the best. Here's what I would change.

You went from a Corsair RM to an EVGA NEX. The RM is probably a better psu.

For EVGA you want the G2 or GS.

I think one stick is fine and also, the PSU you have chosen is worse...go with a G2, GS or anything seasonic (and their OEMs)

Edit: ah, someone commented about the PSU just a few seconds before I have...

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I am going for a nice, minimalistic black build. That's why I chose the Kingston black RAM and the Spec-01. The GPU I wanted was already black so it matches nicely. I also like the blue on the ASRock board, then I noticed that the Spec-01 had the Red LED fan which I thought I could change out later. However, the S340 is really nice and will fit the build better than the Spec-01. The only downside is that the HDD and SSD are kinda just there on the bottom of the case, which might not look the best, considering they are silver. Still, that's just nitpicking. The minimalistic black look is also why I went with the water cooler. It's small, looks great, and lets me overclock a bit.

Also, I took you guys' advice about a slightly better PSU, and got a 750w fully modular power supply. I don't think I will need anything bigger any time soon.

So my updated build is here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/LfR8NG It pushed me over my $1000 budget but who cares :D

Edit: Nvm about the drive thingy, you can store it in the basement with the psu :P
